World Premier: Dr. Timothy Mahr’s Symphony No. 1 for Wind Ensemble

Trinity University LogoThe name Timothy Mahr is known throughout the wind ensemble world as a composer of the contemporary Wind Ensemble works. On Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 3:00 PM the Trinity University the Ruth Taylor Auditorium the Wind Ensemble will be premiering his first symphony. Timothy Mahr’s Symphony No. 1 is a wonderful composition that unique, interesting, exciting, and inspiring.

Dr. Timothy Mahr is a professor of music at St. Olof College in Northfield, MN, where he is the Conductor of the St. Olaf Band. Dr. Mahr is in great demand as a guest conductor and clinician. In 1991 he received the ABA/Ostwald Award for his piece, “The Soaring Hawk.” Five of Dr. Mahr’s other pieces have been finalists in national band composition contests.
